The world premier of "Tony de Peltrie" was shown at Siggraph in San Francisco on Tues. July 23. Quoting from the film catalog: The last five minutes in the life of a once-famous piano player. Alone and nostalgic, he remembers the good old days. Just before disappearing he relives a night in the piano bar with his friends. The hit of the show, this film had careful direction and warm characterization. The animation of the character is expressive and represents a new level of accomplishment. It finishes by using computer graphics to sum up in a way that requires a visualization unique to computer graphics. Directors: Pierre Lachapelle, Phillipe Bergeron, and Pierre Robidoux. Producer: Pierre Lachappelle. Artistic Director / character design: Daniel Langlois Contact: Centre de Calcul, Universite' de Montre'al, 11793 Drapeau, Montre'al-Nord, Que'bec, Canada H1H 3K7
