So you're planning to see a movie this weekend -- finally going to get up
and see those films you've been putting off for so long. So what to go see?
You don't want to go over all 400+ articles in net.movies -- gotta get home,
pick up the SO and get to the theatre. What's the BEST things you could go
see?

Quick relative Moriarty checklist, in order of preference, with BRIEF
summary.

1) Cocoon. Wonderfully handled, funny, moving fantasy. Not another E.T.

2) Silverado. Extremely entertaining Western, if seen on a 70mm screen (a
must). Great weekend film with big audience.

3) Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. Not even close to Road Warrior in terms of
thrills, but very original and very amusing.

4) Pale Rider. Good old Mystical Eastwood western.

5) (Conditional). Man with One Red Shoe. See it if you missed The Tall
Blond Man with One Black Shoe. Otherwise, it depends on taste.

ADDED EXTRA: It may not be in your town, but if MacArthur's Children is
playing near you, and you're looking for something more than Summer
Entertainment, and you don't mind subtitles, SEE THIS FILM. It is head and
shoulders above the five listed above, warm and insightful, and one of the
finest movies I've seen this year.
