The following is a listing of the top-level directories of the
Ada Software Repository. While it is highly recommended that users employ
the Master Index book (available from MACA in hardcopy form for a fee or
available from the ASR itself in the directory PD2:<ADA.MASTER-INDEX>)
or the Online Documentation Files (ADA.DB and ADA.HDR in PD2:<ADA>) to
search for items in the ASR, some users find it convenient to see this
top-level directory view (which is more project-oriented).

Since its beginning, the Ada Software Repository has been
evolving (I hope for the better). The next issue of the Master Index,
for example, will be the first to add Review Codes (other than NR - Not
Reviewed) to the item descriptions. The online documentation files
will also start adding Review Codes by March. We have a taxonomy
now, as you may have noted in the last few issues of the Master Index.
If the last time you looked at the Ada Software Repository was as little
as six months ago, you will find noticable changes.
For those of you who haven't looked at it in a while, you might
want to look again. For those of you who haven't seen the ASR before,
you might want to look for the first time. In either case, feel free
to send a request for the ASR Welcome Message. As per the norm, I can't
handle individual requests for files from the ASR, but I can send out this
message which tells you about the available options for accessing the
ASR and how you can help yourself. Send requests for the Welcome Message to:
