sgoel@uceng.UC.EDU (shashank goel) (05/21/89)

Dear Netters:

I am presently engaged in ascertaining the various approaches to
ada compiler evaluation. As a consequence of the above I need information
about all the work done in this regard. Any of you who have done any work or
read a piece on this particular aspect please may direct the information
 to me

YOU are in luck!
The Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University has
just released the "Ada Adoption Handbook: Compiler Selection and
Evaluation" (Nelson Weiderman, CMU/SEI-89-TR-13, March 1989).
It's the perfect start-up guide for someone who is just beginning
evaluate Ada compilers. It should be subtitled "Everything you always
wanted to know about Ada compiler evaluation, but..."
I've been involved with Ada compiler evaluation since 1985 and I'm
totally impressed with Weiderman's coverage of the subject. If it's
not in the Handbook, then the evaluators don't know about it.
Get a copy from DTIC or NTIS.

Incidentally, unlike other SEI publications, this one seems to be
copyrighted. I feel I can't copy it. Does anyone know about this?
