Colleagues: Do any of you know of any work/product/project that has been done or is now in progress for an Ada to dbII interface? Phil Kiviat (from Sage) called me with the above request. The Army has a COBOL prototype that uses dbII, and they are considering migrating the program to Ada. One of the "sticking points" is an interface to the dbII database product. Apparently, if the interface is already done (or in the process of being completed), or if the cost of developing one is not too high, then the move to Ada would be more likely. If you have any information on the above, please respond on the net to me, or contact Phil directly at 301-294-1181. My phone and FAX numbers are: 304-725-6542 and (FAX) 304-725-6543. Thanks, Ralph Crafts

At Tri-Ada '88, IBM Toronto gave out a handout on the IBM Ada Product Line which states in part: "IMS/VS DC support [in the IBM Ada environment] allows an Ada application to communicate with DB2 (Database 2), the SAA (System Application Architecture), and SQL (Structured Query Language)". General information regarding IBM Ada products can be obtained from the IBM Ada Help Desk, which is at 1-800-387-0262. Also, the CAUWG report published in the Jan/Feb '88 Ada Letters contained an announcement of IBM's Ada equivalent of CICS, _Ada Interactive Services_; inquiries are to be directed to Richie Jacobovits at 1-301-240-6322 via your local IBM representative.
