[comp.lang.ada] TRI-Ada 89 update: Opening Plenary 2

jtf@SEI.CMU.EDU (John Foreman) (09/29/89)

We changed the name of the session previously called "government status
reports" to "Opening Plenary 2". This change was motivated by the speakers
who have accepted our invitations for that session.

I am very pleased to announce the following speakers:

   General Bernard P. Randolph, USAF,
        Commander, Air Force Systems Command
Rear Admiral Paul E. Tobin, USN,
        Director, Information Resources Management
   Dr. John Solomond, Director, AJPO

---------------------------------------------

Information about General Randolph follows:

General Bernard P. Randolph is commander, Air Force Systems Command (AFSC),
Andrews Air Force Base, MD, where he directs the research, development,
testing, evaluation, and acquisition of aerospace systems for Air Force
operational and support commands.

General Randolph is expected to provide an Air Force operational perspective
on the software problem and discuss the necessity to change software
development from a seeming black art to one based in science and
engineering. He will also discuss the Systems Command Broad Area Review and
the Software Action Team initiative to create multi-faceted actions on
software and systems issues.
