[comp.lang.ada] Doing a trade study for cross compilers

beth@aoa.UUCP (Beth Scott) (04/10/90)

I am putting together a trade study for validated Ada cross compilers whose
target is the MIL-STD-1750A embedded computer system. To date, I have
information from Tartan, Verdix, and Telesoft.

Has anyone had any experience with these or any other cross compilers?
Your information would be valuable to me. Please respond via the net
or e-mail.

I know of two additional 1750A compilers. Systems Designers has a product
called XD Ada that runs on Vaxes. It uses the DEC Ada front end and cross
target back ends developed by SD. It also uses related tools on the VAX
such as the debugger. SD is the US branch of SD-Scicon, a British software
company that produces financial, military, and artificial intelligence
software products.

The other is TLD. They are a small west coast firm that specializes in
1750 support. They are a small name in the Ada world, but are very
respected, particularly among west coast aerospace companies, for their
1750 support.

You may also wish to consult with the "ultimate authority" on the subject
of validated Ada compilers :-)
