Regarding 1):

No, that's not John McEnroe. The actor's name is Marc McClure, and he
previously appeared in Robert Zemeckis' first feature, "I Wanna Hold
Your Hand". His most recognizable role, though, is as Jimmy Olsen in
the three Superman movies.
