[net.movies] Mad Max trivia answer

boyajian@akov68.DEC (JERRY BOYAJIAN) (09/05/85)

Back at the beginning of the month, in one of my postings, I asked the
trivia question: "What is Mad Max's last name?" I got a whelming response
of four replies. Oddly enough, the first reply I got, from Lynn Vanderbilt
(houxa!lmv) suggested that I'd get more replies than I originally thought,
since the answer was given in an issue of ROLLING STONE (the issue with
Mel Gibson and Tina Turner on the cover). I hadn't known that when I posed
the question, but that's life.
Anyways, of the four responses I received, only one was correct ---
from Howard Good (good%ucbtopaz.CC@Berkeley). The answer is Rockatansky.
I'm grateful to that ROLLING STONE, too, since on the soundtrack it sounded
like Rogantansky.

One person sent this response:

> Max's last name was Bronzokowski(sp?). He was refered to as the "bronz" on
> several occasions by both his fellow cops and by Toecutter and friends.

Actually, "bronze" was a derogatory term for policeman derived presumably
from their wearing bronze badges or something. In one scene at the "Hall of
Justice", an announcement over the p.a. system asked that the cops refrain
from using the term "bronze" themselves since it was considered derogatory.
