Is the language name Ada still trademarked by DoD, or has the trademark lapsed. I had heard sometime ago that the intention was to let the trademark on the name Ada lapse, but still control the use of a phrase similar to "Validated Ada". Is this presently the case or is the name Ada as a computer language still actively protected by an AJPO trademark? Re: Ada Trademark The Ada trademark has lapsed. No need for (R) any more. The Ada Validation Office has a special pentagonal (get it?) stamp that is limited for use with officially validated Ada compilers. You may have seen it in advertisements, etc. -S. Tucker Taft Intermetrics, Inc.
