Does anyone know, or recognize, where Back to the Future was shot? The vegetation, the license plates, and the "Bank of America" in the town square suggest non-coastal northern California. One scene clearly showed a highway sign, for the intersection of (I think) U.S. 8 and U.S. 395. But there is no such intersection--U.S. 8 does not even enter California. It's possible I don't remember the highway numbers correctly. /Ron

But if they were back in time ...hmmmm

I've only been there once, about five years ago, and I don't remember the center of town too clear. But, I'd say the climate looked about right. -- Walt Tucker Tektronix, Inc

I've seen it 3 times, and it looked like U.S. 8 each time. But the sign also indicates 8 going southbound, while even numbered U.S. highways run east-west. Conclusion: That wasn't an actual sign, only a prop. And to confuse things more, while there isn't a Hill Valley, CA, there is a Mill Valley just north of San Francisco.
