[comp.lang.ada] info on the legislative Ada mandate

mfeldman@seas.gwu.edu (Michael Feldman) (12/15/90)

Several people have requested more specific citations to the Public Law in
which Ada is mandated. Thanks to my wife, a legislative attorney with the
General Counsel, U.S. Dept. of Education, I have more info than you'll
probably need or want. But here goes:

- the DoD Appropriations Bill, signed by Bush 11/5/90, is now called
Public Law PL 101-511, statutory citation 104 Stat 1856.

- if you are interested in receiving a copy, you can send $1.75 to
  Director
  Office of the Federal Register
  Wasington, DC 20408

- you can call this office at 202-523-5230.

- if you have access to the Federal Register (a good law office would, or
a university law library), there is a list in the Dec. 10 issue,
vol. 55 #237, of ALL Public Laws passed by the second session of the
101st Congress, starting on p. 50802. No doubt you would be fascinated
by all the stuff that poured forth in the closing days of Congress :-)

Good luck. Here endeth today's Civics lesson.
