                            ADA 9X PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT

It is with great pleasure that the Ada 9X Project Office
announces the award of the User/Implementer Team contracts on
21 December 1990 to AETECH, Tartan, and TeleSoft.

AETECH, teamed with RR Software and AdaSoft, chose the
information systems domain using an 80386 architecture. James
Thomes is the AETECH program manager.

Tartan, teamed with TRW, chose the avionics/space domain using
an 80960 architecture. Paul Knueven is the Tartan program
        manager.

TeleSoft, teamed with Unisys, chose the C3 domain, using an
680X0 architecture. Mark Overguaard is the TeleSoft program
        manager.

The primary objectives of the two-phase Ada 9X
User/Implementer Team contracts are to (1) provide feedback to
the Ada 9X Mapping/Revision Team regarding proposed Ada 9X
language changes; and (2) provide feedback to the Ada 9X ACVC
        Team regarding proposed ACVC tests.

Three contracts were awarded for Phase 1 (Mapping/Revision
feedback) in an attempt to objectively assess the impact of
language changes on various application domains, target
architectures, and compilers. A down select is scheduled in
December 1991 for Phase 2 (ACVC feedback).

The Ada 9X Project Office extends hearty congratulations to
the awardees and a very sincere thank you to all of the
contractors who responded to this RFP.
