Someone else had some negative comments about the Dream Syndicate, calling them another band whose singer was trying to sound like Jim Morrison. I've been told that that's the way they were in their beginnings, that the producer of their last album may in part be responsible for their (unfortunate) transformation. A band that seems to be really worth hearing from amongst the "psychedelic revival" is Green on Red. I keep hearing this great cut of theirs and unfortunately keep forgetting its name. Later... I like R.E.M., but I'm not *crazy* about them. I saw them open for the Police once (arena shows are pathetic ways to see bands like R.E.M.) last year. Quite good. I don't find them as interesting, though, as other bands out of the Mitch Easter production stable (and friends), including the dB's, Let's Active (Easter's own band, who opened for Echo & the Bunnymen superbly), Pylon. I heard a new Mitch Easter production the other day on a friend's cassette. Also good. Also forgot that name, too. It *is* after 1 AM, gimme a break. [Sorry...] [I don't know what this signature line means anymore...] -- "Now, Benson, I'm going to have to turn you into a dog for a while." "Ohhhh, thank you, Master!!" Rich Rosen pyuxn!rlr

That should have read: that's NOT the way they were in their beginnings. [referring to Dream Syndicate] Oh, well... -- It doesn't matter what you wear, just as long as you are there. Rich Rosen pyuxn!rlr
