Well, I don't think you got anything wrong, and you probably "know" just as well
as I do, but just to add something:

We have a Novix chip here.  It will run at 4mhz or 8mhz. This, on the Novix 
NC4000, turns out to be 5 MIPS or 10 MIPS.  

It's kind of a neat-looking little bugger, with about 128 pins sticking out
the back of it.  It can do neat things like a return in zero cycles, etc.  
It merges the return opcode with the opcode of the previous instruction.  The 
Novix can do a bunch of stuff in parallel and so it turns out to be zero cycles
for the return.  Kinda neat! :-)

Obviously, I am *not* the hardware type, but if anyone has any specific 
questions about the Novix, send me mail and I'll have one of the local 
hardware geniuses who consults for Novix answer your questions...
