henk@euraiv1.UUCP (09/29/87)

In my possesion is a version of Forth for PC's and such, written by
Mike Perry and Henry Laxen. I would like to know what the most recent
release of this Forth is. The version that I have replies with:

8086 Forth 83 Model 2.0.0
Modified 01Apr84

Can anybody fill me in on this ?

For people interested in other Forths: I've also got Fys-Forth, which
is written by people from the University of Utrecht. Originally written
for the Apple II(tm), later ported to PC's (and clones). It is the forth
I learned forth from, back in '81, '82 when the only languages available
for the Apple were Basic and UCSD Pascal. This forth already featured
a full screen editor, and files instead of blocks. I'm not saying files
are better than blocks, or blocks better than files, by the way, I just
preferred this forth with its files over Basic with its monolithic program
structure, and simple line editor.

If you would like to learn more about Fys-Forth, please tell me, and I'll
dig out some specs.
