[comp.lang.forth] Forth for a ROM 8085 microcontroler

rogers@orion.SRC.Honeywell.COM (Brynn Rogers) (12/09/88)

I am considering useing forth (as apposed to assembly) for a
microcontroller I am developing.

My questions 1: I think I need the assembly source for forth
is it available on the simtel (or anywhere)?
2: do I really need the assembly code?
		 I Have a AT clone and I do have a decent cross-assembler

sorry, someone just took down the system with only a minutes
   notice.

has anyone got any experience produceing ROMable 8085 code
from a 80x86 machine?

I just got a 256x128 pixal LCD display and all the routines
I need to do fancy graphics would be a nightmare (in assembly).

one last question, does anyone know where to get a Public-Domain
or Shareware PL/M compiler for the 8085 (strictly speaking I guess
I need a cross-compiler) . we used to have some here at
work, but when we scrapped the Intel MDS-III it went with it.
