Hi A friend recently acquired an IBM "PS/2" system, currently running MS-DOS. He asked me about how he would go about writing himself a simple graphics game. It ocurred to me that Forth might be a good language to introduce him to. So... What forths are available for these machines (public domain or otherwise). Thanks Todd Olson olson@helios.tn.cornell.edu

Todd, if your box *really* runs MSDOS, the public domain implementation by Henry Laxen and Mike Perry of the Forth-83 Standard known as F83 should work just ducky. It is available on many BBSes, including mine, number below. Commercially, the first vendor to really get hot on PS/2 and OS/2 is Laboratory Microsystems, Inc. ( LMI ) whose UR-FORTH comes in DOS and OS/2 versions. Great for upward compatability of source, a little pricey, but have you checked out the price of a C compiler these days? :-) LMI's BBS is (206) 306-3530. {}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{}{} {} {} {} jax@well ."
