Dear Networker We have developped very interesting mathematical models of blood circulation and acoustic propagation on IBM-PC . We appreciate for these jobs the facilities of the FORTH ( ASYST ) Language . We have just been connected to a VAX system , pride of TOURS University , working with VMS-4.7 . There stands the problem that no FORTH compilator is at the moment avalaible on our system . Our programs are too large to be easily rewritten in another language ( Fortran , Pascal ...) . So we would be very pleased if you could tell us how we could find a Forth compilator compatible with the VAX-VMS system . That would be of a great help . We hope to hear from you very soon , do not hesitate to contact us for any fruitful exchange on Forth program improvement . Yours sincerely , Frederic PATAT LABORATOIRE DE BIOPHYSIQUE MEDICALE UNIVERSITE DE TOURS FRANCE

I didn't have too long to work with the language when I was at Loyola (I was only learning FORTH then), but there is a lang. called STOIC which is designed for the VAX computers, and has a "FORTH-like" structure. You may want to look into that. -David Wood ********************** IGNORE THIS LINE ***************************** ******************** IGNORE PREVIOUS LINE ***************************
