I just read your message about the new chip from Charles Moore. I tried to locate Shaw Associates, but I couldn't get their number from directory assistance. Could you post their phone number and address if you've got them? As long as I'm here, is this chip available now? If so, how long has it been around? Since it uses DRAM, it sounds quite a bit different than the Novix chip. Is it? Thanks for letting us know about the chip in the first place.

No. There is some chance that some chips may have been fabbed by now, but as far as I know, it is not yet available to the general public. > Since it uses DRAM, it sounds quite a bit different than the Novix chip. > Is it? Yes, very different. I can't say any more, because I received the information about it under a non-disclosure agreement. Presumably other people who know about it are bound by similar agreements. In any case, I received the information last December, and there is every reason to believe that it has changed substantially since then.

I combed my copy of the message referring to SHBOOM, the new chip or rumor of a chip, designed by the Chuck himself. I could not find the phone number or address of Shaw Associates anywhere in it. I tried directory assistance for San Jose and San Francisco. They did not have a listing. Can somebody post the phone number or address of Shaw Associates or anyone else who can provide information on SHBOOM? Thanks.

Oops, it's Shaw Laboratories, and as has been pointed out above, it's Hayward, not San Jose. Hayward is either 415 or 418 area code, I fergit which. Can't find his address anywhere handy.
