Several of the new nominations for bad movies surprised me. In particular "Zelig" and "The Return of Martin Guerre" were in my opinion very good movies. They were not entertaining because they were bad, but genuinely good. "Zelig" was Woody Allen's documentary about a social chamellian (sp?). It was quite funny, very original, very well put together, well acted, very self consistant. Every review that I saw of this film agreed with me on these points. "The Return of Martin Geurre" was also given favorable reviews, and when I saw it I was very impressed. The acting was good, the sets and costumes were very authentic. If this film should be called one of the worst films because it is slow, then 2001 should be even lower on the list. "Martin Geurre" is not an Indiana Jones movie, but it was very good. I noticed that the same person nominated both of these films, and many others. I believe that he must be missing an important point in what makes a film a candidate for worst film. Therefore I suggest that his other candidates "Candy", "I am Curious (Yellow)" etc, most of which I know only by reputation, but not bad reputation, be removed from the list.
