U266@CBEBDA3T.BITNET (11/27/89)

Hi there,
I am searching for a HP1000 Minicomputer FORTH for brasilian
radioastronomer friends. Please let me know if such a Forth
has been implemented and if so by whom.

 Many thanks in advance Andreas

Hello Andreas,

i have a collection of forth running on hp1000 :

most interesting is :

- a forth running stand-alone on a small 2100 with or without FP, 8KW of
memory (at least, praticaly you will need 16KW=32KB), a terminal and
either a magtape (1600bpi) or the simple cassette of 2645/2648 hp terminals.
all source files are sequential, blocs are not supported. for/background
  tasks are also supported

- a forth running stand-alone using similar configuration, but with 7900 disks
all source files are in blocs, no sequential file. multitasking have
never been used, but are there.

- a forth running under RTE 6VM, normal sequential source files, but bloc files
are also supported. minimum partition is ~12KW, but i usualy use 23 KW ones.
This is a very nice version, quite stable, with a lot of options available.

NONE are F83 standard, neither arer they fully compatible between them, but
they are close to F78-F79, with a lot of addons. Main problem would be
documentation ...

Of course, they would be given free, but as is !

Other persons to contact are : Lary Forsley in Rochester and Hans
Nieuwenhuijzen in Utrecht (the Netherland). I am afraid no-one is online.

Could you bring me in touch with your Brasilian radioastronomer friend ?
(By the way, I am also working in astronomy, just at shorter wavelength ...)

    best regards, Paul
