Where can we find the variant of F-PC tailored for OS/2? (more specifically, of the newer 225 forth version if possible). It is available from SIMTEL20 as files FPC225-1 through FPC225-5.ARC in the <msdos.forth> directory, or since you're on Bitnet, you can get them from your nearest "trickle server". Actually there is an even newer version of F-PC available from Tom Zimmer.
It is F-PC 3.50 and can be downloaded from GEnie, the East Coast Forth
Board or the British Columbia Forth Board.
BCFB is a PCBoard BBS 604-434-5886
The files are FPC350-1.ZIP FPC350-2.ZIP FPC350-3.ZIP and FPC350-4.ZIP
The names will be a little different on GENIE as they have been broken
into smaller pieces. As well as including a Hyper Text interface to the
system source and help files there is also included Tom Zimmers new target
compiler which will turn your Forth source program into a very small COM file
which includes only the necessary kernel words required by your application.

F-PC 3.5 has recently been released. I haven't fully installed my copy yet, but it has what look to be some nice new features, including mouse support, hypertext help, and a true-compiler utility (as opposed to just creating a Turnkey copy of the interpreter). It is available from the various Forthnet systems, as well as from the GEnie FORTH RoundTable. --Dave --- Dave Weinstein olorin@walt.cc.utexas.edu GEnie: OLORIN 9036 N.
