Here is a letter that Gary Smith sent me to be put onto comp.lang.forth,

        ForthNet -> UseNet port

F-PC 3.5 is available on ForthNet nodes ECFB, RCFB, BCFB, GEnie
Forth RoundTable and will be on simtel20 and Melbourne FIG by
the time this makes comp.lang.forth or shortly thereafter.
[[Actually, it won't be on simtel20 for a while yet, but I'm working
on getting it onto terminator.cc.umich.edu. I'll send out a note
when that's happened.]]

For numbers to access these see Tommy Rolf's 1 Dec 1989 OLIS update
or post request and I will be glad to repost. For clarity and for
geographic fixes and phones of the primary nodes:
** none are (currently) on UseNet
  - GEnie is a public information utility available throughout North
    America and Japan
1-800-638-9636 for subscription or information in US

 - ECFB is a pc-board based bbs in the Washington DC area
      703-442-8695

 - RCFB is a pc-board based bbs in Denver, Co
      303-278-0364

 - BCFB is a pc-board based bbs in Vancouver BC
      604-434-5886

 - Melbourne FIG chapter
      (03) 299-1787 in oz
      61-3-299-1787 international

 - there are also ForthNet archive nodes in the uk but NOT on
   UseNet

There are nearly 2000 Forth specific files on each of the four nodes
listed above. Among the files are kernels for most cpu's, Object
Oriented and Neural systems, techniques and tutorials, and LOTS and
LOTS and LOTS of uttilities and general information.

For the present we are going to port as much as we can as soon as
we can to simtel20. IF someone wants to volunteer a Forth Archive
site for the net we sure as fire won't say "no". You MUST provide
site maintenance and provide some evidence of your intent to stay
on line before we will accept your offer.

If you want a specific file (to be posted to simtel20 only !) send
  requests to gars@glsrk or gars@lrark
   path from uunet: uunet!swbat!texbell!ark!lrark!glsrk!gars
     or to -
   uunet!willett!dwp or willett!dwp@gateway.sei.cmu.edu

[[I'm going on vacation between Xmas and New Years, so there won't be
a whole lot happening along those lines till I get back in 1990!]]
