Learn good habits, they say, by being forced into doing it in the One True Revealed Way. In fact, I've seen some books that criticize a programming language for providing more than one way to do any particular thing. (Naturally, they *hate* forth!) But as we can see from recent world events, there's something in the human spirit that ultimately rebels against authoritarianism.
