For a few minutes there, I wasn't even sure I was on the Forth network. All of this stuff about Genie and uucp may be interesting to some people, but it isn't what I call here for. My big question is: "Why isn't this BBS network program written in Forth?". The only Forth BBS program I've encountered was so cryptic it was impossible to modify. But a BBS program is an ideal project for Forth. My first Forth program was a terminal program. I am writing, very slowly, a Citadel-like BBS program in F83. This project is largely for my own amusement; the company that I work for dropped Forth about 2 years ago and I like to keep my skills up. If this program ever gets finished, it will network with Citadel BBSs. If anyone is interested helping with this project (for free, of course), please call my BBS. The program is called Fortadel. The design is sound and a fair amount of the low level programming has been done. My BBS is NiteOwl - US 707-823-3052 - 8pm-8am PT - 2400 bps. My handle is b0b.
