Pygmy Forth v.1.2

I have now had a chance to check out the new version (file #1939) on an old
PC w/ a CGA and on a Packard-Bell w/ an EGA. It runs fine on both, (as well
as my monochrome system) so I believe the one program (PYGMY.COM) will run on
all MS-DOS & PC-DOS machines (providing they use video memory at $b000 or
$b800). Please let me know of any incompatibilities.

Steve, thanks for your comments about Pygmy version 1.1. The new version
1.2 solves the problem of the two *.COM files: it has a single executable file
that configures itself for either color or monochrome monitors automatically.

You have a good point about the *.DOC files. Many people would expect them
to be easily readable with a text editor, but they are block files (and easily
readable from Pygmy). The only file that should be read with a regular text
editor (or DOS's TYPE) is README.PGY.

I don't recall the original file description, but the current file
description for v 1.2 does not say Pygmy's purpose is to be educational.
Pygmy's purpose is to give me something to do instead of what I should be
doing when I don't feel like doing what I should be doing, which is most of
the time. 68HC11 assemblers can also serve that purpose. Another purpose I
had for Pygmy was to give me a workhorse Forth for application development for
my own use. If other people get some use or pleasure out of it that is an
extra bonus to me. I mean, I think it can serve to educate, but that is not
its primary purpose. I do hope to put together a package just for teaching
Forth to raw beginners someday and will take your suggestions to heart for it
and any future upgrades to Pygmy.
