This files shows how to requests files from OLIS. The files that can be
requested are listed in the posting "OLIS: Contents"

    * Getting the request to OLIS
     -----------------------------

To send a request to OLIS you simple send mail to "TROLFS@vax1.tcd.ie"
with the subject line "OLIS:REQUEST". In the main body of the mail you
should write your requests. If you don't have "OLIS:REQUEST" in the
subject line then OLIS won't get your request.

    * Requesting a file
     -------------------

To get a particular file from OLIS, all you need to do is say:

        SEND filename

If you don't know what files are available, or want to see if there are
any new files available, say should request the CONTENTS file.
    Therefore, you would write:

        SEND Contents

This files has a listing of all the presently available OLIS files.

If you want to request multiple files in one go, then just write each
request on a separate line. A multiple request will look like this:

       To: TROLFS@vax1.tcd.ie
       Subj: OLIS:REQUEST

       SEND <file1>
       SEND <file2>
          .

          .
       SEND <fileN>

Up to 10 files can be requested at a time.

    * PATH - Specifying an alternative return address
     ---------------------------------------------------

For some reason you may want OLIS to send your requests to an alternate
address. This is handled by using:

      PATH "newaddress"

The new address MUST be enclosed in double-quotes. If there is a error
with selecting a new return address, then the original address is used.
Also, only the FIRST occurrence of the PATH command will be acted on.

Here is an example request using PATH:

      To: TROLFS@vax1.tcd.ie
     (From: john_doe@work.somewhere.someplace)
      Subj: OLIS:REQUEST

      SEND <file1>
      SEND <file2>
         .
         .
      SEND <fileN>

      PATH "john_doe@home.somewhere.someplace"

In this case the request was sent from John Doe's work place and the
files will be sent to his home address.

The PATH command can be put anywhere in the text.

    * SIGNON
     ---------------------------

If you want to be put on to the OLIS mailing list then just include the
    command:

    SIGNON

Your address will be added to the list. If you use the PATH command then
the new address will be used.

The list is for notifying people about new files and any changes changes
    to OLIS.

If, at a later stage, you want to be taken off the list then just mail
    me personally.

    * Important points to remember
     ------------------------------

     1) Make sure that you spell the name of the requested file correctly.
The turn around time for OLIS is quite long and so it can be very
annoying to have a request fail because, say, an 's' was left off.
Double check your requests before you mail them.

     2) OLIS is NOT case sensitive.

     3) If you get a report from OLIS saying that the files you have
requested have been sent, but you have not received them. Wait for
a day or two. Sometimes mail can get held up. If you do have trouble,
        mail me.
