[net.movies] What's the name of ...

benson@dcdwest.UUCP (Peter Benson) (10/15/85)

What's the name of the movie wherein:

	1) this guy meets some woman early in life and

	2) the guy loses girl, again early on while he's
	still sort of stupid and

	3) years later, and much smarter, he meets her again

	4) etc.

The name of the movie or the title song or something vaguely
connected to this movie like say the wedding march played at
the best boy's daughter's wedding is something like "If ever I
see you again".

This is a request for a friend. I would never do anything
quite this stupid myself.

The movie "Obsession" seems to fit the description a little bit. It
starred Cliff Robertson and Genevieve Bujold. In the beginning, Genevieve,
Cliff's wife, is kidnapped and apparently killed in a car accident. Their
daughter had been kidnapped as well but she is not killed, although Cliff
doesn't know it. Anyway, Cliff leaves Paris (I think) and goes home(?).
About 20 years later he returns, and sees this woman who looks just like his
wife and they fall in love. Genevieve plays her too. You're supposed to guess
that this is his daughter, etc.

Maybe this isn't the movie you were thinking of, but it's an intriguing
movie and I just thought I'd mention it. Also, I don't remember if it
had a theme song.
