Category 18, Topic 55 Message 1 Sat Feb 17, 1990 MZWILLENBERG at 23:24 EST Anyone know of a version of FORTH which will run in the Atari Portfolio? 128K RAM, quasi-MS-DOS compatibel, but with non-standard screen and serial rt handling. One RAM card "drive" plus an internal RAMdisc. The external memory extenders with extra card drives are not available et, because of FCC RFI problems, I've heard. It would be nice to have FORTH on such a handy pocket- sized platform. -Mel ----- This message came from GEnie via willett through a semi-automated process. Typically, they only use standard DOS calls and run in very limited memory spaces. At the very least, only minimal customizations may be required. I'd suggest trying F83, Pigmy, ZEN Forth, or F83X, but F-PC would most likely be too large. Does the Portfolio have ROM cards? It might be interesting to have Forth in ROM, but you will need to know quite a bit about Forth to be able to do it. I agree with you, however, that Forth on those pocket computers would be just about ideal. DaR ----- This message came from GEnie via willett through a semi-automated process.
