Hi all,
Due to the recent number of mail messages I've received at
ForthNet@willett.UUCP, I thought it best to remind everyone that we currently
do *not* have an email gateway into GEnie/xCFB's. I realize that this is
unfortunate and inconvenient. It is also out of my hands. I would strongly
encourage would be mail replyers to reword their messages into a form suitable
to posting, if at all possible. We (Gary Smith and I) will certainly inform
comp.lang.forth readers as soon as the email situation changes.
And now, back to our regularly scheduled program...
-Doug

Hello, At the risk of behaving like a rabbit climbing onto a hill and screaming "Here I am, Here I am, Here I am!" during the hunting season, I would like to ask a question - What PD or SW reasonable implementation of forth for a rank beginner in forth... I started using forth on the (please...) VIC-20 ages ago. It was horrible... and I dropped the language. Since then I programmed a lot, but never in forth... The language itself has uses, especially in small environments, and I would like to go back to it. My system is an XT-compat, inc. disk and so on and so forth... Yours in advance, yaniv@shum.huji.ac.il

My advice is to get a copy of F-PC. It's a public domain Forth written primarily by Tom Zimmer. I happen to have an ad from Offete Enterprises on my desk offerring a four disk set, the F-PC users manual, and the F-PC technical reference manual. I believe that the manuals were written by C. H. Ting. Anyway, here's the address: Offete Enterprises 1306 B St. San Mateo, Ca. 94402 The costs are: 4 MS-DOS disks (5-1/4) $25 F-PC User's Manual $20 F-PC Technical Reference Manual $30 I'm in no way affiliated with Dr. Ting or Offete Enterprises Jan Hofland
