Yesterday I received an official letter from Harris Semiconductor stating that they were defaulting on certain required obligations to WISC Technologies. While Harris retains some non-exclusive rights in theory, in practice this means that they are abandoning the WISC design for the RTX 4000. In particular they no longer have exclusive access to the WISC patents. WISC is open to negotiations with others for access to the technology. True to Harris form, the letter was dated November 13th and postmarked December 12th. The default took place on November 24th. Phil Koopman koopman@greyhound.ece.cmu.edu Arpanet 2525A Wexford Run Rd.
