[comp.lang.forth] The real question

I dunno. I'd have to meet her first, date a while and get to know her. She
might be just the girl for me. :)

I wonder if she'd like fractal flowers? :)

Just thinking about Forth an its nature, again, and the
fact that Mitch Bradley compares Forth to his wife. I
now realize that the real question we are all facing is
     this:

Would you marry someone designed by the
	  ANSI team?

I was just reading over in comp.lang.lisp where some guy suggests that
Common Lisp would probably be more consistent and less redundant if it
had been designed by an individual rather than by committee. In light of
this observation I offer to personally design the next Forth standard.
You may not want to marry her, but I guarentee you won't want to throw
her out of bed! ;-)

I should tell you a bit about her: her left leg is 11" shorter than
the right  (a compromise between tall and short members of ANSI team);
She's quite fat (eating all those high calorie new features).
Also she's bald (after hours of debate no agreement could be reached
on hair color -- so the team decided to leave it out after one member
said "Woof -- who needs hair!". 8-)

The idea of dating sounds like a good idea. I wish that there
were a way of making a formal proposal to the ANSI team to allow
a dating period before they declare this phase of their work finished.
(Someone should make a test implementation -- they were doing that
for a while -- and let the Forth Community see what would be involved
if she were to become a companion for life.)
