As a Skryabin fanatic, I'd have a hard time giving a strong recommendation to ANY orchestral work by this composer.. Somehow his `symphonies' always struck me as empty, particularly 1 and 2, which are FRIGHTFULLY stupid! #3 (the Divine Poem) is almost good, but, like the earlier ones, remains stuck in a very cliched and predictable late-romantic rut (unless you're really into lotsa `ta-da's at the end..) Only with the poems of Ecstasy/Fire does his orchestral style finally develop a real identity. These two works have fascinating material, just1902 Relay-V
