I just downloaded PYGMY 1.3 from wuarchive.wustl.edu and I have been playing around with it in my spare time (what spare time? I'm in grad school). I have not been able to get the metacompiler to work and was wodering if anyone else had. What I thought would solve the problem was when I caught Sergeant's article in Fourth Dimensions Vol.12, No. 6 where he discusses Metacompilers in general and the one in PYGMY in specific. I noticed that the screen pictured in figure four was completely missing from the copy I had so I promptly remedied this (this screen held the definition of TCREATE --- the word that created the headers in the target dictionary). I went to run it and guess what, it still doesn't work. It trips up over the word VID on screen 28 (this word is defined on screen 24). As I won't really have much time to dig into this until spring break, I was hoping someone out in NetLand had similar problems and could e-mail me a quick fix.
