[comp.lang.forth] F68K - a native code Forth for 68000

hm279he@uni-duisburg.de (Heckes) (05/31/91)

Try it !!!!

F68K is a native code Forth implementation for ALL 68000 computers. For reasons of its code generation, it runs very fast.
F68K was designed to run really all 68000 machines without any change or recompilation.
This could be achieved by placing all dependent I/O-stuff in a seperate loader
program, which has to be rewritten for each computer using F68K. But this is
a simple task and can be done even in C. No OS is needed on the target system,
for F68K comes with its own internal filesystem FIFI, which provides a very
comfortable management of sources in blocks, which are of 2kB each (80x25).
F68K comes with a L&P-assembler, a full-screen-editor, a lot of tools including
e.g. ANSI-locals and FIFI, of course. Further there is the full source of the
kernel written in assembler and a 100kB documentation, which grows continously.
Some people in Germany are really working on the expansion of the system.

The standard F68K-installation shows a loader program for Atari ST
as an example. Other loaders should be available on demand.

F68K is FREELY distributet by the author. Just send two disks for GEMDOS or one
HD-disk for DOS together with an addressed envelope and you will get a copy.
