I have ParcPlace DE Smalltalk for my Mac SE. It is quite usable and includes support for the Mac file system and serial ports. However, it is not as fast as the Tek 4406 Smalltalk, as the benchmarks show. I have heard that an accelerator board can improve this performance to > Mac II performance. Has anyone tried ParcPlace Smalltalk on an accelerated SE? Does anyone have any comparisons to make between the various accelerator boards on the market? Are there any comments about reliability, compatibility with Smalltalk and other Mac programs, ease of installation, or the value of the floating point accelerator for normal Smalltalk applications? Thank you. I will post any replies to this forum. -- John Maloney
