[comp.lang.smalltalk] Adobe font metric files

My VI2.2 Sun release contains a preliminary version of PostScript output
from Smalltalk-80 text. Also given are the Adobe font metric files, "to
be used for the generation of internal font-width tables." How does one
use these files? Where can I obtain the format they use?

Any help will be appreciated.
