I cannot get Smalltalk/V to boot up on my stock 1M Mac+: it stops somewhere in the middle of initialization and reports that there is not enough memory available. The manual claims that it will run on a 1M machine running at least System 4.2 (I believe, the manual's at home right now). I'm running System 6.0.2 and UniFinder, and I have removed all DA's, INIT's and cdev's except for the basic system things. Is 6.0.2 simply too big, or are there some tricks I can try? Or have I just accelerated the schedule for my memory upgrade? Has anyone else had any success with this configuration? Thanks for any tips, Mark -- Mark Scheevel MCC, Advanced Computer Technology scheevel@mcc.com

According to Digitalk, Smalltalk/V for the Macintosh requires at least 1.5 Meg of RAM to run. So it sounds like tyou need a mem ory upgrade to get off the ground. It's a shame that they don't put up an alert telling you how much how much you need to run.
