[comp.lang.smalltalk] bug in Smalltalk/V Mac

mfidelma@bbn.com (Miles R. Fidelman) (06/07/89)

Folks,

I've come across a rather irksome bug in Smalltalk/V Mac. I wonder if
anyone has come up with a fix.

Sending the message fromClipboard to class Form
                 (e.g. Foo := Form fromClipboard)
causes my system to bomb. Digitalk is aware of this, but no
patch has come out yet.

I've traced the events that lead up to a crash, and it seems that
the crash occurs upon execution of a primitive:
        Process enableInterrupts = false

Anybody have any ideas?

Well, this works just fine on my system. Even for large pictures. I am using
a 2 monitor Mac II with 5 MB memory (MF partition is 1953) and still system
version 5.

BTW, any reactions from digitalk about the 2 monitor problem (see my posting
a few days ago, the fix still works) ?
