A recent contributor made the oft repeated point that, since the Bible mentions "brothers" for Jesus, some sects assume Mary was no longer a virgin later in life. There is a difference of opinion on this point between Roman Catholic doctrine and the beliefs of various other Christian groups. So be it. However, this contributor then went on to laugh at the notion that Peter could be celibate as all Popes are supposed to be because of the mention of a mother-in-law! Who said Peter was celibate? Celibacy under Roman Catholic doctrine is very much a church law rather than one which comes directly from above. -- You are Beautiful, Dick Rickert my manufactured love;- AT&T CPL but it is only Svengali, Indy, IN talking to himself again. Reward is its own virtue!
