Dear Smalltalkers (esp. DigiTalkers), we will for the next few weeks have to put some manpower into the development of some 'lowlevel'-classes and methods for SmallTalk V/286. We will surely reinvent the wheel for some of our problems, nevertheless there is still hope to reduce the reinventing by 'raid and copy' code not from within our own classes but from you! So if you have a solution (free or for money) to some of the following problems please let us know. 1. Unremovable Dispatchers (a general solution of the hacked Prompter-Class) 2. Store-on for cyclic objects (we happily received the code for ST 80, so for us this will (only?) be adaption to ST V/286). 3. (Different!) coloured SubPanes 4. Texteditor with automatic wrapping. 5. Fast regular expression search ('Grep') for within textpanes. 6. Menus with non-selectable (grayed) entrys (MS-Windows style) 7. Multiple-choice ListPanes which return an Collection of selected objects to the model rather than executing the first clicked selector. 8. Some cute iconizing methods to differentiate objects of different classes within the DAGPane (preferrably with colors). 9. A drawToWithArrow: method which puts an Arrow at the end of the line. If we do not get help on the above topics we might give the results to you when we have (hopefully) solutions and there is interest. Bye and thanks - Thomas E-mail preferred, because our news garbage collector is from the very fast kind! ------- Thomas Muhr, Technical University of Berlin, BITNET: muhrth@db0tui11 Project ATLAS - Computer Based Tools for Qualitative Research "Computers, like every technology, are a vehicle for the transformation of tradition."
