Can anyone post or mail me a complete as possible list of Tangerine Dream Soundtrack Albums? If the did not do the music for "Midnight Express" can you tell me who did? Thanks in advance for the cooperation.

Information from Lotusland: Music for Midnight Express was composed by Giorgio Moroder. It won an Oscar for Best Original Score in 1978 (beating out, among other nominees, John Williams for Superman).

Tangerine Dream also did The Sorcerer. If you want fantastic soundtracks with more ominous sounds that you could shake a 40 chicken at, then check out Bernard Hermann. Nemo would have been proud...

In article <54@mit-amt.MIT.EDU> gerber@mit-amt.MIT.EDU (Andrew S. Gerber) writes: >In the movie "Visionquest", which semi-flopped about 7 months ago, >Tangerine Dream purportedly were the "musical consultants" or >something. Ever since I heard (and loved) Tangerine Dream's music from >Risky Business, I have gone to see movies with Tangerine Dream music >in them. Visionquest had none, yet Tangerine Dream was listed in the >credits. What are they up to? Tangerine Dream DID write the music for Visionquest. It got axed when it was decided that TD soundtrack will not bring as much revenue in LP sales as Madonna, etc. Well, so they were right! *I* would have bought the Tangerine Dream album, most of the Madonna croud would not. For other TD soundracks see movies : "The Keep", "Thief"... I am sure Peter Reiher would be able to name more if asked..... -- Disclamer: My employers go to church every Sunday, listen to Country music, and donate money to GOP. Tangerine Dream's earliest soundtrack is "Sorcerer". Very creepy, very effective. They also wrote a soundtrack for "The Soldier", though I'm unsure if that soundtrack was used. I think that, in addition to "Risky Business", "Thief", and "The Keep", they did some documen- taries, but I wouldn't swear to it. -- Peter Reiher reiher@LOCUS.UCLA.EDU {...ihnp4,ucbvax,sdcrdcf}!ucla-cs!reiher
