[comp.lang.smalltalk] ST/V GUI Tool Testers Wanted

cooper@netcom.UUCP (Ken Coooper) (06/06/90)

Hi folks,

Are any of you the kind of people who like to be the first on your
block with shiny new software? Do you like to make developers squirm
at the sight of newly discovered bugs? Do you like discounts on
software products? If so, I've got an interesting proposition for you.

I'm a developer for Acumen Software, and we're looking for beta
testers. As some of you may recall, our product is a user interface
developer's package for Digitalk's Smalltalk/V 286.

The package consists of several pieces:
o a simple yet powerful structure for creating graphical
user interfaces in Smalltalk (a.k.a. no more confusing MVC)
o a rich set of predefined, easy to use GUI building blocks
(hierarchical menus, modal dialogs, a word wrapping text
       editor, etc).
o an interface builder, which allows you to interactively
       "paint" your user interface.

The beta test will start the fourth week in June, and should extend
for 4 to 6 weeks after that. We're looking for experienced and
inexperienced Smalltalk programmers alike who will test the product
extensively in a variety of real world applications.

As I hinted above, we will be offering participating beta testers a
considerable discount on the released version.

If you're interested in participating, send me an electronic message
with the following information:

    - your Smalltalk experience
    - the sorts of projects you work on in Smalltalk
    - your PC configuration
    - your location

Thanks!

Ken Cooper
