[comp.lang.smalltalk] Cursor keys in ST-80 text views // Neural nets

fche@db.toronto.edu ("Frank Ch. Eigler") (05/29/90)

Hi -
	Two questions:

     -	Does anyone have some snippets of Smalltalk code that
would let me use Sun cursor keys in text editor views
	under ST-80 v2.5?

     -	Does anyone have some snippets of Smalltalk code that (:-)
implement neural networks? I heard of ST/V's goodies
set, but they're probably not distributable. I'll be
working on a simulation framework for these, and am
interested in existing implementations. Actually, just
a description of the class structure of the ST/V goodie
	would be very helpful.

Thanks for any info/help.

There is a simulation of a neural net that recognizes patterns
on the Carlto project Goodie of Digitalk. There is a description
of it, together with some code, in one of the final chapters of
Ernest Tello's book on "Object Oriented Programming for Artificial
Intelligence", Addison-Wessley 1990.
