I'm trying to get the gnu smalltalk going with stix and when I do the ./mst -V t.st command, part way through the loading of the initial methods & classes, I get the message : Processing CFuncs.st "CFuncs.st", line 44: Segmentation violation Object class>>#isVariable Object class>>#variableSubclass:instanceVariableNames:classVariableNames:poolDic tionaries:category: UndefinedObject>>#executeStatements UndefinedObject>>nil Do I just not have enough swapspace or memory or is there another problem?? Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks, Charles Johnson Intel Scientific Computers Beaverton, OR cfj@isc.intel.com

I had the same problem (on a PMAX running Mach). Please post the solution, or at least email it to me if it exists... > Excerpts from netnews.comp.lang.smalltalk: 8-Jun-90 gnu smalltalk with > stix Charlie Johnson@isc.inte (625) > I'm trying to get the gnu smalltalk going with stix and when I do the > ./mst -V t.st command, part way through the loading of the initial > methods & classes, I get the message : > Processing CFuncs.st > "CFuncs.st", line 44: Segmentation violation > Object class>>#isVariable > Object > class>>#variableSubclass:instanceVariableNames:classVariableNames:poolDic > tionaries:category: > UndefinedObject>>#executeStatements > UndefinedObject>>nil > Do I just not have enough swapspace or memory or is there another > problem?? > Any hints would be appreciated. > Thanks, > Charles Johnson > Intel Scientific Computers > Beaverton, OR > cfj@isc.intel.com --Sean Sean Levy, Research Programmer, Engineering Design Research Center, CMU snl@Globe.EDRC.CMU.EDU
