[comp.lang.smalltalk] Performance of Smalltalk/V Mac on a Mac+

mjohnson@mira.acs.calpoly.edu (Mark S. Johnson) (07/04/90)

As a vehicle for learning Smalltalk, is the performance of
Smalltalk/V Mac on an a Mac Plus....

          good?
          great?
          acceptable?
          painful?

Since I'll be learning Smalltalk, I kind of like the fact that it is
an interpreter. Also, I'll be upgrading to at least 2.5 Meg of
memory.

Thanks in advance for any comments,

For learning purposes ST/V-Mac is at least, good performance
based upon comments from users I am aware of. ParcPlace of
course also has an implementation of ST-80 which is very good
	but requires more memory.
