I am interested in getting a copy of the Xerox Character Code Standard which is used by ST-80. The ParcPlace people told me that they could not give me the Xerox document (because they are no longer Xerox, etc) and suggested that I contact Xerox. Has anyone else asked for or looked at this document? I am interested in comparing it to the proposed new Unicode standard. It would be very nice if everyone would use the same 16 bit character codes :-) :-) Thanks for any help! -- John Baima john@utafll.uta.edu

Xerox Standards such as the Character Code Standard can be ordered from the Xerox Systems Institute. The order person is Fonda Pallone at +1 408-737-4652. I believe that the Xerox Character Code Standard (XCCS) is similar to the AFFI registry but somewhat different than Unicode. I believe that Unicode requires the Han unification which is a politically charged issue with the PRC, Hong Kong and Formosa. -- Lee Moore -- Xerox Webster Research Center -- +1 716 422 2496 UUCP: {allegra, cornell, decvax, rutgers}!rochester!rocksanne!lee Arpa Internet: Moore.Wbst128@Xerox.Com
