I had a bit of a freaky experience with st/286 a few days ago. I tried to save the image and got a cryptic DOS error message -- not understood command -- (or something similar. It turned out that my harddisk was full. So I called a dos shell (or whatever you call it), cleaned out my disk, got back into st and tried to save it again. This time it behaved like usually. Now I exited st and when I tried to start it again (v). BINGO -- unexpected eof -- or the last time -- general exception error. Fortunately I had a backup copy and restoring did not take too long. But I am wondering why that happened anyway (I can hardly call this a feature) and how to prevent this in the future. Besides, I want to warn others as you can easily loose a few hours restoring everything (after you got your heart beat down to normal). So long (and thanks for the fish), max ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Max Ott e-mail: Hatori Laboratory ott@hatori.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp Dept. of E.E.; U of Tokyo I am not a tourist, I live here, but +(81)-(03) 812 2111 Ext. 6761 would not mind being one. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Max Ott e-mail: Hatori Laboratory ott@hatori.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp Dept. of E.E.; U of Tokyo I am not a tourist, I live here, but +(81)-(03) 812 2111 Ext. 6761 would not mind being one.
