[comp.lang.smalltalk] Digitalk's Mac Plans

More news from Digitalk's Compuserve forum, where several people
have been quizzing them about their Mac plans.

The new version of Smalltalk/V Mac will:
  o Compile to double-clickable applications
o Include full Mac color support
o Ship sometime between May and July of this year
o Be source code compatible with the Windows and PM versions
To what extent, I can't say. I hope they go to the trouble of
making the class hierarchies EXACTLY the same, which is
what "source compatible" says to me. They have repeatedly
vowed not to provide binary compatibility a la ParcPlace.

In regard to the current discussion of support for the Mac toolbox,
I have impression that this will also improve with the new version. I
can't remember where I got this impression, but I have been talking
a lot with them both here in cyberspace and at conferences.
